Project objective
- The aim of the project is the preservation of animal and plant habitats through ecological-educational activities of cleaning, recycling and re-utilisation of collected waste.
The long-term purpose of the project is to contribute to improving the conservation and protection of the marine environment and the area, and to sustainable social development. The project includes activities that contribute to raising environmental awareness of the importance of environmental conservation, especially of the sea and coast, and to preserving fish stocks and other marine organisms by keeping the sea clean. The project also includes activities that contribute to raising awareness of sustainable waste management, re-utilisation and recycling as ways to reduce environmental pollution. These activities include 7 eco-actions of cleaning the seabed and 3 eco-actions of cleaning the coast, 3 sculpture workshops using waste recovered from the sea, 3 educational workshops on preserving the sea and marine life from pollution, the design of an information panel on the conservation of the noble pen shell, promotion activities and project management. Among locals and tourists, the project promotes the decision of the Municipal Council of the Medulin Municipality on the elimination of the use of single-use plastic items.
