The Municipality of Medulin was granted support for the eco-action project "Green footprints in a blue frame" on the basis of a FLAG call for proposals for awarding support to projects under Measure 2.2.1 “Collection of waste from the sea, the seabed and coastal areas” under the Local Fisheries Development Strategy 2014-2020 of the "Istrian Batana” FLAG (FLAG “Istarska batana”). The total eligible costs of the project amount to HRK 74,384.12, and the co-financing rate is 100%, with HRK 63,226.50 (85%) financed by the Operational Programme for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and HRK 11,157.62 (15%) financed by the Republic of Croatia. The project will include a total of three cycles of coastal- and underwater-cleaning ecological interventions. The project activities will include the cleaning of coastal and underwater sites, photography workshops for children, educational workshops on marine themes, as well as making sculptures from collected waste and debris. In each cycle, the project partner Public Institution Kamenjak will hold educational workshops. The project partner Mutila Association will participate in every eco-action and create and set up two photo points. Members of the MedulinArt Association will also participate in the eco-actions and will make a sculpture from driftwood and waste from the sea with children and other participants. As part of the eco-actions, the Format Association will hold a photography workshop with kindergarten and elementary school children and will develop photos that will be presented at the final event. Divers from the Club for Underwater Activities – Medulin will clean the seabed and present their equipment to the participants in the eco-actions. At the end of the project, there will be a final event attended by the local population, project participants, partners, associations, and others, at which the results of the project will be presented. A photo exhibition, "Eco-Action Through the Eyes of a Child”, and an exhibition of sculptures of protected marine species made out of waste from the sea will be organised, and a promotional video about eco-actions will also be presented. The project developer is the Municipality of Medulin, while the partners are the Kamenjak Public Institution and the Mutila Association.
